Privacy
Short version: what you enter stays in your browser.
What you type into the tools
All calculations run in your browser. Plant names, nicknames, pot sizes, dates, light readings and card notes are never sent to a server, ours or anyone else's. The site makes no network requests with them.
What is stored on your device
To remember your lists between visits, the site saves them in your browser's local storage under keys starting with sunnysill-: your watering schedule plants and settings, your repotting list, your care card choices, your preferred units and hemisphere, and your light or dark theme choice. They stay on this device until you remove them with the Clear buttons on each tool or clear your browser's site data. Calendar (.ics) and text files you download are created in your browser.
Cookies and analytics
The site sets no cookies. It uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which Cloudflare adds to these pages to count page views without cookies or cross-site tracking. It sees the page address, referrer, browser type and similar request details, never what you type into the tools. The site is served by Cloudflare, whose servers, like any web host's, process the standard request information needed to deliver the pages.
Links to other sites
Pages link to sources such as university extension services and the ASPCA, to sister sites and to CleanTempMail and WebTraceCheck. Those sites have their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow a link.
